DOL Announces Inflation Adjusted Civil Penalty Amounts for 2024

The Department of Labor (DOL) issued a  final rule
 for annual inflation adjustments to civil monetary penalties for the 
Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA), increasing penalties 
for failure to furnish various required reports to beneficiaries and 
government agencies. This also includes inflation adjusted penalties 
under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the Family
 and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
This rule is effective January 15, 2024.
